"It is predicted that a slave in the south dedicated about 50% of his time to his master. The rest of his time he grew his own food, tended to his shack, and slept. Today, most Americans have to work until April until they start to keep their own money after taxes. 10%? 20%? Up to what percentage of your income are you willing to give to the government before you consider yourself a slave?"
-- Roman

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
--Thomas Jefferson

"Our founding fathers cherishes freedom, not democracy."

"The obligations of our representatives in Washington are to protect our liberty, not coddle the world, precipitating no-win wars, while bringing bankruptcy and economic turmoil to our people."
--Ron Paul

check out these quotes!!! amazing... I wish more people would understand this...

Well, here we go again... another election year where we will be forced to vote for the lesser of two evils.  John McCain for the Republican nomination?! This guy SAYS he's pro-life but anyone who looks at his voting record knows that he's essentially pro-choice. He's for amnesty for illegal immigrants, is for continuing this war, and opposed tax cuts.

This is unbeliveable!! what is happening to the republican party?!!! Must we have someone who is for the expansion of this military empire around the world? Are we required to vote for someone who does not protect the life of the unborn? Someone who's own mother said that conservatives will have to hold their noses in order to vote for him? The man got booed during his speech in the republican convention today. What is wrong with us republicans? I for one am not supporting someone simply because the republican machinery is behind him. If the ideals are wrong then I don't care how pretty you dress it up and how much money you throw behind it, I will not follow it. Ron Paul is really the only nominee who respects the life of the unborn AND the lives of foreigners living in other countries enough to say that government has NO RIGHT to take their lives simply because they are inconvenient to us.  The only candidate that remembers the Just War dictum of Christianity (and how the United States is currently breaking this 2,000-year old Christian tradition), that has been unwaveringly pro-life, and has never voted to raise taxes is Ron Paul. This is the ONLY candidate out there that I can vote for, and I will write in his name during the general election in november if it comes to that.

It has been very frustrating getting involved with the republican party as of late (going to their fundraisers, meeting local and state representatives and even a senator, going to their rallies and meetings) and seeing this holier-than-thou, we-can-rule-the-world-because-we're-the-superpower attitude. It makes me sick and I'm tired of it. Not only that, but more than 70% of the american population is starting to open their eyes and are also tired of it. The republican party better wake up, because the voters, especially us younger people, are. How dissapointing that McCain is bound to get the nomination... how dissapointing, and how sad. People are truly led by whatever the news shows tell them and whatever the add-money throws at them. It would be impossible for a Thomas Jefferson to be elected today, and thus the American Empire (the antithesis of the dream the founders of this great nation had) will keep on growing with its ever-present federal government.

getting REALLY excited about this Ron Paul fundraiser dubbed "The Tea Party" on december 16h.

On that day, go to www.ronpaul2008.com and donate as much money as you can. It is the largest political fundraising drive in history, and it will give a big push to the cause of freedom and true constitutionalism in government.

can't wait...

Broke up with my girlfriend Jenny even though we get along well and are good friends. We simply seemed to be incompatible in certain areas and had been dating for some months already, and so we thought it wise not to prolong the issue and be wise about it. It still hurts, however, and it sucks to put up barriers once again with someone after you've had a certain level of trust and intimacy. My friend B (who shall remain nameless because I didn't mention I would say anything in my blog about it) from wheaton (who's on these blog things) mentioned how she broke up with a guy after three YEARS in a relationship, even though they had known from the start that they had incompatibilities. she's my age. granted, twenty-something isn't that old, but for heaven's sake, three years is a LONG time, and to be in a relationship for MORE than three years seems to me too long to be in a relationship that was showing signs of incompatibility from the start. We did NOT want to do that to each other, so when things were looking like they were staying the same and not progressing after five months, we thought it prudent to be friends. I pray the Lord guides us both from this point on, as I trust He has been doing in the past as well. anybody else been through any similar situation?
peace.
edwin a.
